Says Paulo: This series represents part of a long-term project about immigration in my city, Sao Paulo, and my country, Brazil. I spent the last year accompanying the cult of a peculiar Pentecostal church located in Sao Paulo’s downtown. It was created and is mostly attended by Nigerian immigrants which have come to Sao Paulo some years ago and built a numerous and middling organized community in the city. At a time when immigration issue is recurrent, this project attempts to show how immigrant communities settle down in their new lives.
