Objecthood of a past journey investigates the cultural identity of the Italian migrants in Wales. The objects have been treasured as a dowry gift by Lina and Angelo – migrated from Bardi in the 50’s – and conserved for their daughter, Monica. Nevertheless, Monica – who born and grown up in Wales- has never used it. Utilising an archaeological approach, Objecthood of a past journey questions the collection as metaphors of the values that the immigrants brought with them and wish to pass on.
