PhotoBiography: Tobias Madörin

Tobias Madörin, born 1965 in Basel, lives and works in Zurich. His travels through Europe, South and North America, as well as Asia and Africa have led him to the most diverse places where the photos arose for his long-running project Topos. Since 1990, Tobias Madörin has regularly exhibited in group and solo exhibitions, among others, at the Galerie Stihl Waiblingen, the Museo Cantonale d’Arte Lugano (2013), the Galerie A.C. Kupper Modern, Zurich (2012), the exhibition space 25, Zurich and Kunsthaus Zürich (2006), as well es at the Museum im Bellpark Kriens and the Swiss Pavilion at the Expo 2005 World’s Fair, Aichi, and the Museum of Architecture, Moscow (2002). Tobias Madörin has been honored with numerous grants and prizes and his work is represented in several art collections. He has published the illustrated volumes “Berlin – City in Space” (Vice Versa Verlag, 2004), “Gleichgesinnt. Der Verein – ein Zukunftsmodell” (Kontrast Verlag, 2003), and “Barcelona – City in Space” (Neuer Kunst und Medienverlag, Zurich, 2001).
