Nowhereland is a concentrate of images from different potentially antithetical geographical places, which, confronted with each other, form a surreal, intriguing, unique world, nevertheless bearing witness to a multiple universality – the Nowhereland. Through this mixture of heterogeneous landscapes and architectures, natural and anthropic elements, presences and absences, Nowhereland is a melancholy journey in the heart of a wild and hostile cosmogony, our world.
Sébastien Bridot was born in Lausanne in 1976 and lives in the Canton of Vaud. Of French, Swiss and Austrian origins, he began photography in 1994 at the Sart school of Vevey, followed by a professional training in photography at CEMCAV, the Center for Medical Education and Audiovisual Communication at the CHUV ( Vaud University Hospital Center) in Lausanne, which he successfully completed in 2001. After a few years working as a technical collaborator for photography at the Lausanne Cantonal School of Art (ECAL), he became independent, participates to various collectives before founding the Spectrals photography studio at the end of 2014. In parallel with his activities, Sébastien Bridot regularly visited other continents, journeys nourishing his reflections and photographic techniques.
