Kinuko Esther Asano: Memories Of Home

Memories of Home explores the notions of identity, memory and imagination in the photographic process. Through the process of chemigrams, which only uses photo sensitive paper, light and chemicals, I create landscapes that combine memories I have of landscapes and urban scapes from my two home countries, France and Japan. The result is an imaginary landscape that stands between the two countries, between two different memories, that also plays with the relm of the imagination as memories cannot be truthful to what it was, or what it is now. They are my own interpretation of home and of my own identity.
